Coordinator of Education
Kim Meeks
"I don't often think of this ministry as my "work," although it clearly is that too. Ministry is my life, and is intertwined with who I am in such a way that is often difficult to separate.
Kim has been the Church Educator at First Presbyterian Church since February of 2002. Her main focus is the children's ministry through Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities. She, along with a great Children's Ministry team, lead a rotational model enrichment program called "G.R.A.C.E. Place" each Sunday Morning for 1St -8th grade. One of her favorite parts of children's ministry is developing curriculum for "G.R.A.C.E. Place". Teaching Biblical-sound truths & virtues to the students using art, science, video, games, cooking and puppets and then seeing the "AH HA" moments when the group really get the message of God's saving grace and love for each one.
She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Christian Educator in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Kim's husband Rick, an elder of FPC, is employed with Procter & Gamble of Brown Summit. They have two children: Ricky, 23 & Nikki, 19 and Dakota, her furry, five year old Siberian/German shepherd mix.

Treasurer
Beth Chandler
I came to work at First Pres in December of 1998. I worked in the Accounts Payable department of Fieldcrest Cannon for 18 years until my job was relocated to Kannapolis in June of
1998. In December of 1998 my father-in-law (Calvin Chandler) was having surgery and Pastor Joel was visiting with my motherin-law (Jackie) at the hospital. My husband was also there,
am not sure exactly how it came up that FPC was looking for a part time secretary but my husband told Pastor Joel I was unemployed. A few days later I was interviewed and got the job.
I was part time secretary until July 2005 when I became full time. In August 2007 I moved into the Treasurer's position.
I am a member of Osborne Baptist Church. Even though am not a member of FPC I feel like I am a part of this church. love attending the special events here! My husband also grew up in FPC.
I have been married to Greg for 27 years. We have two children, Josh age 21 and Katie age 18. We also have two cocker spaniels, Holly and Molly.
